Editorial standards

Our public guidance helps Canadians understand insurance without standing in for regulated advice.

What we cover

Authorized topics include life insurance concepts, policy features, coverage decisions, claims and life events, and the role of insurance professionals and organizations in Canada.

How we work

We use regulatory, corporate and other authoritative sources. Content is reviewed, dated and updated when evidence or rules change. Sources and disclosures are shown with each guide where applicable.

Editorial and commercial separation

Editorial guidance is independent from commercial listings, sponsorships and calls to action. Commercial content cannot change conclusions or review outcomes. The Registry does not endorse a product or provider merely because it appears in a directory.

Corrections and feedback

Tell us about a factual issue through Feedback. We record material corrections and preserve a clear distinction between evidence and opinion.
